Dejan Ernestl

Born in Slovenia, Dejan Ernestl has always loved working with plants and relishing their place in nature. At an early age he began helping his father maintain a large vegetable plot. After completing his undergraduate degree at the College of Viticulture in Maribor, Slovenia, he pursued postgraduate studies in agriculture at the same university.

From 1992 to 2000, Dejan worked for a large perennial nursery and landscaping company in the Baltimore area. During that time, he completed a certificate in Landscape Design at the George Washington University.

In 1997 he started Urban Designs, focusing on creating private gardens that are in tune with nature for discerning clients in the Baltimore and Annapolis area.
